Foundation Rebuild
Initially the wooden foundation below the addition was parged.

As you can see, the parging began to crack, flake and crumble as the poorly built foundation continuously shifted during the freeze and thaw cycles.

We underpinned the entire addition.

First we excavated 6 feet below the addition, formed and poured new concrete footings.

Next, we built new
blockwork on top of the concrete footings up to the height of the base of the addition, so that the entire load of the addition was supported by the masonry blockwork.
We waterproofed the blockwork below grade, then we parged the exterior blockwork at the front base of the house so that the overall appearance was aesthetically pleasing.
