Chimney Restoration

The craftsmen have to first remove the damaged brickwork located on the chimney.    The bricklayers will stop removing brick from the chimney as soon as the brickwork appears to be solid and/or structurally sound.    In most cases, the entire chimney has to be taken down to the roof level and then rebuilt. Now we replace the damaged brickwork with new brickwork. In this case we installed a solid concrete chimney cap at the top of the chimney with an overhang and drip edge installed on the bottom of the cap. One of the most difficult tasks in the brick industry is finding bricks that match the original brickwork.    In this case we were able to track down a brick that was similar in size and texture, but the colour did not match.   Once again the brick tinting team did an outstanding job for a truly authentic restoration.
