Q

If I live in a new home when should I have my first masonry inspection?

 A

Once your home is 5 years old and your New Home Warranty has expired, we recommend you have annual inspections thereafter.

Q

I would have thought a newer home wouldn’t have masonry problems is that correct?

 A

Masonry does not have to be aged to deteriorate.
Poor design and/or inferior quality materials can cause masonry to deteriorate prematurely.

Q

How often and when should my masonry be inspected?

 A

Once a year. Canada’s harsh climate with frequent freezing and thawing temperatures takes a tremendous toll on masonry and can have profound effects on its integrity. Masonry that is deemed okay one year can very well require attention the following year. Try to book your inspection as early as possible in the spring, before the rains start to penetrate and potentially further erode your masonry.

Q

How can I tell if I have problems with any of my masonry?

 A

There could be several indications that your masonry requires attention, some of these maybe visible to you, but most require inspection by a trained professional.

Q

How much does an inspection cost?

 A

There is no charge for an inspection.

Q

How long does it take to get an inspection or estimate?

 A

Most inspections can be scheduled within 24-Hours and our staff is equipped with state-of-the-art estimating systems to provide computerized quotations on-site.

Q

How long does an inspection take?

 A

Most inspections are completed within 30-minutes.

Q

If you find a problem what happens next?

 A

If we happen to find a problem while performing an inspection and it is clearly visible from ground level, we will carefully go over the problem area(s) with you. If the problems are out of sight or reach, we will use digital pictures to show and explain them to you. At that point if you wish we will provide an estimate for you.

 Q

Is there any obligation to proceed with the work?

 A

There is no obligation whatsoever. We are only too pleased to leave our information with you.

Q

If I decide to proceed with the work what happens next?

Q

How long does the work take?

Can you work in any weather conditions?

 A

Masonry work can be performed under most weather conditions except heavy rain and freezing cold temperatures.

Q

Do I have to be home while you are doing your work?

 A

No. As masonry repairs are mostly performed on the exterior of your home, we do not need access to your homes interior.

 A

Depending on the work, a crew may require access to an outside plug for hydro and a tap with a hose attached for water.

We take great care in leaving your property clean and tidy during and after all work is finished.

Our work ethics respect all local bylaws. If we are using equipment such as saws and grinders that make noise, we ensure that this work is performed at a reasonable time of the day. We will also supply you with a Neighborhood Courtesy sheet prior to starting.

The AIG can be taken for a period of 5, 10, 15 or even 20 Years at a nominal cost.

Q

I require restoration work but have been told that my colour of bricks have long been discontinued and won’t match. Is there anything you can do?

 A

This is a common problem as brick manufacturers usually discontinue colours as early as every 10 years or so. Our brick tinting service allows us to match any brick colour precisely, so your restoration will be a perfect match and authentic in every way. Best of all our tinting comes with a 30 year fully transferable warranty.

 Q

Can you match the mortar colour too?

 A

Yes! Matching the mortar colour is important to the authenticity of the restoration work we do.
