|
Q |
If I live in a new home when should
I have my first masonry inspection? |
|
A |
Once your home is 5 years old and
your New Home Warranty has expired, we recommend you
have annual inspections thereafter. |
|
|
|
|
Q |
I would have thought a newer home
wouldn’t have masonry problems is that correct? |
|
A |
Masonry does not have to be aged to
deteriorate.
Poor design and/or inferior quality materials can
cause masonry to deteriorate prematurely.
|
|
|
|
|
Q |
How often and when should my masonry
be inspected? |
|
A |
Once a year. Canada’s harsh climate
with frequent freezing and thawing temperatures takes
a tremendous toll on masonry and can have profound
effects on its integrity. Masonry that is deemed okay
one year can very well require attention the following
year. Try to book your inspection as early as possible
in the spring, before the rains start to penetrate
and potentially further erode your masonry. |
|
|
|
|
Q |
How can I tell if I have problems
with any of my masonry? |
|
A |
There could be several indications
that your masonry requires attention, some of these
maybe visible to you, but most require inspection
by a trained professional. |
|
|
|
| Q |
How much does an inspection cost?
|
| A |
There is no charge for an inspection. |
|
|
Q |
How long does it take to get an
inspection or estimate? |
|
A |
Most inspections can be scheduled
within 24-Hours and our staff is equipped with state-of-the-art
estimating systems to provide computerized quotations
on-site. |
|
|
Q |
How long does an inspection take? |
|
A |
Most inspections are completed within
30-minutes. |
|
|
|
Q |
If you find a problem what happens
next? |
A |
If we happen to find a problem while
performing an inspection and it is clearly visible
from ground level, we will carefully go over the problem
area(s) with you. If the problems are out of sight
or reach, we will use digital pictures to show and
explain them to you. At that point if you wish we
will provide an estimate for you. |
|
|
Q |
How can I learn more about any
potential problems I may have? |
A |
Once defined our representative will
provide you with special information sheets specific
to your needs, which will help you clearly and simply
understand what is occurring with your masonry. |
|
|
Q |
Is there any obligation to proceed
with the work? |
A |
There is no obligation whatsoever.
We are only too pleased to leave our information with
you. |
|
|
Q |
If I decide to proceed with the
work what happens next? |
|
A |
We will provide a written estimate
for you detailing the work to be performed. |
|
|
Q |
How soon can a problem be fixed?
|
A |
Depending on the size, scope and
urgency, most work can be performed promptly and your
representative can give you an approximate start date
right there and then. |
|
|
Q |
How long does the work take? |
|
A |
It is our intention to have the work
completed as timely as possible. Weather permitting
most jobs can be completed within 2 to 3 days. |
|
|
Q |
Can you work in any weather conditions? |
|
A |
Masonry work can be performed under
most weather conditions except heavy rain and freezing
cold temperatures. |
|
|
Q |
Do I have to be home while you
are doing your work? |
A |
No. As masonry repairs are mostly
performed on the exterior of your home, we do not
need access to your homes interior. |
|
|
Q |
Do I have to make anything available
to the work crew? |
A |
Depending on the work, a crew may
require access to an outside plug for hydro and a
tap with a hose attached for water. |
|
|
Q |
Do you clean up any mess when
you are done? |
|
A |
We take great care in leaving your
property clean and tidy during and after all work
is finished. |
|
|
Q |
Do I have to give a deposit
right away or in advance? |
|
A |
Absolutely not. A deposit is not
due until the day we start work. |
|
|
Q |
Who do I pay? |
|
A |
Your representative will collect
your initial deposit and final payment. |
|
|
Q |

|

|
|
Q |
Will the work infringe on my neighbors? |
A |
Our work ethics respect all local

is performed at a reasonable time of the day. We will
also supply you with a Neighborhood Courtesy sheet
prior to starting. |
|
|
Q |
Is the work guaranteed? |
A |
All of our work is 100% guaranteed.
Materials are guaranteed for five years and labor
is guaranteed for one full year. |
|
|
Q |
Is there any way to purchase an
extended warranty or to ensure that unforeseen problems
do not arise in the future with any of my masonry? |
A |
We are one of the first in the industry
to introduce an optional “Annual Inspection Guarantee”
(AIG), designed to offer the home owner peace of mind
and ongoing protection, on masonry work performed
and all the masonry on and around your home. The AIG
can be taken for a period of 5, 10, 15 or even 20
Years at a nominal cost. |
|
|
Q |
Do you offer references I can
call about your services? |

We have many references we can supply
you with, whom you are welcome to call. |
|
|
|
Q |
I require restoration work but
have been told that my colour of bricks have long
been discontinued and won’t match. Is there anything
you can do? |
A |
This is a common problem as brick
manufacturers usually discontinue colours as early
as every 10 years or so. Our brick tinting service
allows us to match any brick colour precisely, so
your restoration will be a perfect match and authentic
in every way. Best of all our tinting comes with a
30 year fully transferable warranty. |
|
|
Q |
Can you match the mortar colour
too? |
A |
Yes! Matching the mortar colour is
important to the authenticity of the restoration work
we do. |
